Life in Eastport.

Find your next home

Begin with the two creeks

Eastport is an Annapolis neighborhood between Spa Creek and Back Creek, connected with downtown by the Spa Creek bridge. Use that geography to organize your first visit. Put a prospective home, the waterfront place you want to explore and the destination you would visit regularly on the same map. A property near one end of the neighborhood may give you a different walking route and outlook from a home near the other.

Jump to a topic

Second Street and the maritime story

The Annapolis Maritime Museum occupies the former McNasby Oyster Company building at 723 Second Street, at the Back Creek end of the street. Its exhibits connect Eastport with the local seafood industry and Chesapeake ecology. Use the museum as a public destination while getting to know the area, then walk the surroundings of any property you are considering. Check the museum’s visitor page before going; nearby private marina parking is not visitor parking for the museum.

Explore the street ends with a map

The Eastport Civic Association lists street-end waterfront places including Horn Point at Chesapeake Avenue, George Washington Davis Park at Fourth Street and Back Creek, and Burnside Park at Spa Creek. These are specific places to research, rather than a promise that every nearby house has water access. Check the City’s current public water-access information and posted conditions. A place to look at the creek does not automatically provide swimming, trailer launching or a boat slip.

Compare downtown and Eastport on foot

If your shortlist includes both sides of Spa Creek, make the actual trip between the home and the downtown destinations you expect to use. Notice crossings, steps, lighting and how the route feels to you. At each house, separate the parking that belongs to the property from public spaces or permits. The City’s parking page links to current residential and on-street information; verify the arrangement for the address instead of assuming a space comes with the neighborhood.

Keep the museum and park campuses separate

The Maritime Museum’s Park Campus is at 7300 Edgewood Road, across Back Creek from the museum. The operator identifies trails and a public paddle-craft launch there. Use the right address when planning a visit. Another useful everyday destination is the Eastport–Annapolis Neck Library at 269 Hillsmere Drive. Its location is a reminder to map the places you would use, rather than assuming everything with Eastport in its name is on the same block or peninsula.

Look past the front elevation

Walk through an Eastport home with your daily routine in mind. Where do bikes, tools and outdoor equipment go? How do you get from parking to the kitchen? Which rooms and outdoor areas would you use most? Ask for available renovation records and property-specific maintenance information. For a condominium, compare private and shared spaces and the association responsibilities. A neighborhood guide can help you ask better questions, but it cannot establish the condition or ownership details of a particular building.

Make the next comparison useful

Read downtown Annapolis for historic-district research and West Annapolis for the Annapolis Street commercial setting. Annapolis Roads adds another Back Creek-area comparison with separate association information. Bring the addresses that interest you to Caprika and describe the home features and regular destinations you want to prioritize. The listings here cover Annapolis. A few things to know

Eastport: a few things to know.

Have another question?
01Is Eastport a separate city from Annapolis?

No. Eastport is an Annapolis neighborhood. Compare the exact property location rather than treating an Eastport label as a separate municipal boundary.

02Where is the Annapolis Maritime Museum in Eastport?

The Museum Campus is at 723 Second Street, at Back Creek. The separate Park Campus is at 7300 Edgewood Road. Check the operator’s visitor page for current access and parking details.

03Does an Eastport home come with boating access?

A water view, private frontage, use of a public street-end park and a marina arrangement are different things. Confirm what the individual property includes and who controls the facility you intend to use.

04How should I compare Eastport and downtown Annapolis?

Compare the route from each home to your destinations, its parking arrangement, layout and outdoor space. The downtown guide also links to historic-district resources for address-specific research.

05Are all these listings in Eastport?

No. These listings use Annapolis as the MLS city filter. Ask Caprika to help verify the neighborhood location of homes on your shortlist.
