Life in Admiral Heights.

Get to know the waterfront places

Admiral Heights has more than one way to meet the water. The Admiral Heights Improvement Association describes Dewey Dock in Heineman Park and Halsey Park as two places it maintains. Dewey Dock has a path down to the water and a dock; Halsey Park has lawn and a path to the water, but no pier. Those differences matter if your idea of an ordinary afternoon involves paddling, fishing, or simply a place to sit.

Jump to a topic

A boat club is a separate conversation

The Williams Drive waterfront property is managed by the Admiral Heights Boat Club, separately from the association’s other waterfront places. Its facilities include boat slips and small-boat storage. If boating is part of your move, contact the club about current arrangements and availability. Do not treat a neighborhood address, a dock in a photograph, or a seller’s past use as confirmation that a slip comes with a house.

Walk the route, not just the listing

Put the actual home and the waterfront place you expect to use on the same itinerary. Notice the walk from the front door, changes in elevation, and how you would carry equipment. At the house, compare entry steps, parking, storage and outdoor space. A convenient place for a kayak or garden tools may matter more to your routine than another room you rarely use.

Compare the home you would maintain

Look at the condition and layout of each property independently. Ask about renovations, the roof and major systems, and which records are available for the work. Walk the yard and note drainage and maintenance questions for the appropriate professionals. Keep what you observe separate from what still needs documentation; a neighborhood guide cannot evaluate an individual building.

Match the Admiral Heights waterfront place to your plans

The association identifies three distinct waterfront settings: Dewey Dock in Heineman Park, Halsey Park and the separately managed Williams Drive Boat Club property. Halsey has no pier; the Williams Drive route includes a narrow flight of stairs. Those differences matter when deciding what you would carry and how you would reach the water. Ask about access for the exact facility before a visit, and look at the route rather than treating all waterfront locations as interchangeable. Your preferred outdoor activity is a better starting point than a general promise of water privileges.

Include Navy stadium days in your Annapolis research

Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium is at 550 Taylor Avenue. If attending games is part of the appeal of an Admiral Heights home, identify the official entry and parking arrangements for the event you want to attend. Also compare an ordinary visit with a scheduled event day before judging the setting around a property. The stadium's presence is a concrete part of this Annapolis map, but the experience will depend on the address, route and occasion. Do not turn a nearby stadium into an assumed parking entitlement or a guaranteed walk time.

Use the current stadium visitor information

Navy Athletics announced in July 2026 that its ticket office had moved to Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. That is a useful reminder to check the operator's current visitor page instead of following an old address saved in a search result. Before combining a ticket-office stop with a home tour, confirm that day's access instructions. For your neighborhood comparison, write down the places you would visit and the times you normally go. A familiar destination name does not replace checking the entrance you will actually use.

Put the West Street library on your everyday map

The Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library is at 1410 West Street. Use that address when testing a library trip from an Admiral Heights property or comparing it with a home in West Annapolis. A book pickup, meeting-room visit or other planned stop gives you a concrete errand to evaluate. Look at the complete route, including the return trip and any crossing you would make on foot. Consult the branch's current information for services and hours rather than building a weekly routine around an older listing description.

Compare Admiral Heights with the Annapolis setting you want

Use the local video already linked in this guide to prepare questions, then test them at the property. Compare the house's entrance, storage and outdoor space with the activities you expect to repeat. Read West Annapolis for another city neighborhood perspective, Eastport for a different waterfront setting and the broader Annapolis guide to widen your shortlist. Keep the same priorities across those visits. Caprika can help you narrow the homes to tour while keeping association access, boating plans and the individual home's features distinct.

A few things to know

Admiral Heights: before you choose a home.

Have another question?
01Are Dewey Dock and Halsey Park the same place?

No. The association describes Dewey Dock in Heineman Park and Halsey Park as separate waterfront properties. Halsey Park has no dock or pier. See the association’s amenities reference below for its descriptions.

02Does buying in Admiral Heights include a boat slip?

Do not assume a slip is included. The Admiral Heights Boat Club manages its own waterfront facilities. Ask the club about availability and confirm any property-specific arrangements before relying on them.

03Are these listings only in this neighborhood?

No. These results use the broader Annapolis MLS city filter. Neighborhood aliases and feed coverage still need verification. Ask our team to help confirm the location of a home; the results shown here are not a complete neighborhood inventory.

04What should I check when touring Admiral Heights near the Navy stadium?

Compare your ordinary route with the arrangements for a scheduled event. Navy Athletics provides current visitor information for the stadium at 550 Taylor Avenue. Confirm event access and parking separately from the home's own parking arrangements.

05Which West Street library can I include in an Admiral Heights visit?

The Michael E. Busch Annapolis Library is at 1410 West Street. Use the branch's current visitor information and test the actual route from the property you are considering.

06Are the routes to Admiral Heights waterfront facilities alike?

No. The association describes different settings, including Halsey Park without a pier and the Williams Drive property with stairs to the waterfront. Confirm access, then inspect the particular route that fits your plans.
